Pure Nard Ministries

In Community, By Community and Teen Challenge

Pure Nard Ministries is directed by Pastor Wafuka Kapolesa and his wife, Lily.  Together they serve through a community development project as an outreach of the church called, In Community, By Community (ICBC).  Pure Nard also hosts a Global Teen Challenge program for young adult men who struggle with addiction.2014-09-10 09.11.17

These two streams of ministry can be found together under Pure Nard Ministries, and both are presently located in the rural community of Mungu, due west of the town of Kafue, about 45 kilometers south of Lusaka, Zambia’s capital city.

Teen Challenge is a year long, residential recovery program for young adult men.  Our hope is to offer a similar program for women.  For now, this is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for men struggling with addiction as there is no other program such as this in Zambia.  Read more about this valuable ministry on the “Teen Challenge” page under the “Ministries” tab.

The ICBC ministry is a multi-faceted, community-based project as an outreach of the church.  Some of the most common areas of concern for rural Zambia are, pastoral care, food security, income generation, vulnerable children’s care, and education.  We begin with the construction of a church, pastor’s home and a preschool and/or orphan home, and from there we launch onto developing relationships and implementing projects that will benefit the community.  Learn more about the ICBC ministry on the “ICBC” page under the “Ministries” tab.

  1. While I am so amazed by all the work that you guys are doing in that community in mungwi, your concern for the whole person is just plain wonderful!
We continue to pray that the resources that are needed for this work will be made available. After all it is the heart of God that the orphans, needy and vulnerable are taken care of as that is the definition of true religion!
